I’m Shelley, a woman who has been fundamentally changed by love, and I suspect that you’re here because love has changed you too.

So it’s nice to meet you, fellow human full of brilliance and eccentricities. I’m a native Austinite, an extrovert who revels in meeting new people (but also appreciates alone time now that I have children), and an earnest optimist who thrives on seeing the gold in others.

  • MY APPROACH

Being photographed has a way of bringing out all of our awkwardness and insecurities- you’re not alone in feeling that! I’m right there with you. But it’s my favorite thing in the world to and honestly capture the love that surrounds you, without orchestrating moments or making you be someone you’re not.

More than a decade of shooting weddings full time has taught me how to do my part to help weddings go smoothly, while giving you room to experience all the moments of the day. To that end, I’ll take charge during family photos so that we can get those important photos quickly and efficiently, but if your grandma wants to give you an extra long hug or uncle brings a beer on a hot day in between photos, that’s the priority.

Whatever happens on your wedding day, that’s part of the story. Come rain, or shine, or pandemic (didn’t ever think I’d need to list that), I’ll capture it in a way that helps you feel the emotions of that day for decades to come.

  • MY FAMILY

Meet Brad, Theo, and Ruby, who ground me in what matters and fill my days with the best hugs!

Brad and I share a similar sense of humor, a love for the outdoors, and our faith, but are super different in most other ways. I’m a big picture thinker, he’s all about the practical details. He can fly a plane and drive a manual with excellence, I hit myself in the face with the car door at least once a month. He’s taught me to be on time and I’ve taught him to enjoy meeting new people. We make a good team!

Theo learned all the states by the time he was 2.5, could listen to us read books for hours, and once told me that he “loves me and my whole heart.” Ruby is the sweetest little firecracker and I’ve considered legally changing her middle name to Danger due to all her…adventures. Look out for her in rock climbing championships in a few years!

Not pictured- our cat Luna who sleeps under the covers with us, but hates everyone else. Admire her beauty from a distance if you happen to meet her!

  • MY HAPPY THINGS

If you send me a message via my contact form, the last question is “What are three things that make you happy?,” so here are my answers!

    1. Being outside. Whether it’s walking in our suburban neighborhood or hiking a 14er in Colorado, I need fresh air to recharge.

    2. Witty, sometimes irreverent humor. Ted Lasso (I’m obsessed), What We Do in the Shadows, Arrested Development, and The Office are common backgrounds to my editing marathons.

    3. Friend gatherings. Bring on the nerdy board games, pub trivia, soccer watch party, or just good conversation- I’m all about having fun together!

P.S. Do you like how I snuck more than 3 happy things into that list? I’m mostly a rule follower, but I can break my own rules, right?
